Our Mission

Our mission here at Littlebit Different is to reduce the large amounts of fast-fashion waste. The Fast fashion industry is the second-largest pollutant on our planet. Large clothing companies are mass producing cheaply made clothes which ultimately end up in landfills. At the same time, consumers are craving a new wave in fashion that allows them to not only look good but feel good. Little Bit Different aims to reduce the amount of clothing that ends up in landfills and instead upcycle them into something fresh and new.

All About Us

One of the top pollutants on our planet is the fast fashion industry. Fast fashion is where large companies such as Shein, Forever 21, Fashion Nova are mass-producing trendy clothing and selling them at an extremely low price causing catastrophic harm to the environment.  To put it in perspective for you, the textile industry contributes more to climate change than international aviation and shipping combined. At the same time, consumers today are craving a new wave of fashion that allows them to not only look good but feel good in what they are wearing. My brand takes second-hand clothing and transforms them into new items to give clothes a new life. Taking second-hand clothing and reworking them reduces the amount of clothing that ends up in our landfills. Breathing a vibrant new life into previously lived-in clothing!

Looking at several statistics, you will notice that upcycling is the most sustainable option for these second-hand materials. While people simply thrifting these items instead of buying new items still benefits the environment, upcycling allows for a unique one-of-a-kind piece that stands out from the rest. Not only does upcycling give you a unique design, but it also is realistically the most sustainable option for recycling second-hand clothing. Only .01% of thrifted clothes are recycled into new fiber. Upcycling clothing is the most sustainable option!

My upcycling process includes sewing, embroidering, dyeing, bleaching, or using the thrifted material as fabric for a completely different item! I take the item from a thrift store and completely transform it into something new and unique.
